The beginning of the Information Age changed the way the world worked. Advances in technology allowed information to be accessed with ease. With new groundbreaking technology and systems being introduced seemingly every day, it is evident that our underlying wireless infrastructure holds great importance. Our lives are surrounded by technology. We cannot leave our homes without our smart phones. We are plugged in to the internet constantly, but how?
Wireless infrastructure is the integration of technology, software, support, security measures, and devices for the management and delivery of wireless communications. We depend on our nationwide wireless infrastructure to keep us connected. Through nodes, DAS systems, small cell technology, LAN, and WAN, our wireless infrastructure creates a cohesive and extensive wireless network that connects people across the globe and within and between businesses.
Mercury Communications is proud to offer services to build out and support our nation’s wireless infrastructure. Nodes, DAS systems, small cell technology, LAN, and WAN allow Mercury Communications to provide turn-key solutions to some of our nation’s largest wireless infrastructure challenges and each service provides a unique solution. For instance, DAS systems are used at large sports stadiums, arenas, and hospitals to increase coordination with leading national carriers. DAS is a network of spatially separated antenna nodes connected to a common source via a transport medium that provides wireless service within a geographic area or structure. This is just one of the many ways that Mercury provides wireless infrastructure.
Another leading-edge service provided by Mercury Communications is implementing small cell services. Small cell systems are cellular radio access nodes used to bring cellular service from the nation’s leading carriers to communities across the country. At their core, small cells are wireless transmitters and receivers designed to provide network coverage to smaller areas. While cellular towers keep the network signal strong across large distances, small cells suit smaller environments. For instance, Metro Link came to Mercury Communications with the need to add wireless phone service to 7 of its 38 substations. Mercury Communications was proud to install small cell systems for Metro Link and was able to successfully supply Metro Link users with cellular service. To learn more about this project, click here!
While small cell buildouts and DAS systems are great ways to provide communities with wireless infrastructure, cellular towers are probably the most notable and recognizable. Mercury Communications is proud to perform tower builds for trusted partners and our nation’s leading carriers. Cell towers are essential in providing signal reception for all of cellular devices and wireless connectivity across large areas. Typically, cellular towers deliver 45 miles of wireless connectivity. Vastly different from DAS systems and small cell, cell towers serve as a larger solution to connectivity challenges. Learn more about our most recent tower-build here!
Mercury Communications is committed to building out our nation’s wireless infrastructure. Through tower builds, installations of DAS systems, and small cell buildouts across the country, we are creating seamless networks to connect people and to elevate the overall network experience where people live, work, and play.
